Words made simple
A few useful meanings before you read the explanation.
- AI
- Software techniques for tasks such as recognizing patterns, understanding language or generating content.
- API
- A way for one piece of software to ask another for data or an action. A claims API might return the current status of a claim.
- Orchestration
- Coordinating tasks: deciding their order, passing data between them, and handling waiting or failures.
More words from this lesson
- State
- The data describing where a workflow is now, what it already knows, and what still needs to happen.
- Durable
- Able to retain progress and recover across interruptions. Durable workflows require appropriate storage and retry behavior.
- Evaluation
- Checking results against examples and clear criteria to find whether the system works well and where it fails.
- HTTP
- The request-and-response protocol used on the web. HTTPS adds encryption to protect information in transit.
- Dependency
- A library or package that your application relies on. Compatible versions help the application run as expected.
Beginner — Why learn Python as a MERN engineer?
- Many AI, document, numerical, and evaluation libraries are strongest there.
- I need enough Python to build and operate those services, but hosted model APIs and business orchestration can remain in Node.
Intermediate — Do type hints validate runtime input?
- No.
- They help developers and type checkers.
- I use Pydantic or explicit validation for external data and carefully configure coercion/strictness where field values affect business behavior.
Senior — How do you make notebook experiments production-ready?
Move reusable logic into explicit modules and services, pin dependencies, remove hidden notebook state, inject clients, add meaningful boundary tests, and implement logging, resource limits, and deployment reproducibility.
Scenario — An async endpoint freezes during OCR. Why?
- The OCR library may be synchronous or CPU-heavy, so it blocks the event loop.
- I offload suitable work to threads/processes or queued workers and keep the HTTP boundary responsive with durable job status.
